Congratulations to Seamus and Jenny on the birth of Stephen Vaughan Cunnaneon 19th April. He weighed 2.7kg and is apparently "growing up nicely". More pictures of Stephen.

The provisional results from the 2008 JOK Chasing sprint are now published.

In what turned about to be a lovely weekend in Stockholm (despite early issues at T5), the joint JOK/OUOC team completed the mens race at the 2008 TioMila.

Online entries are now open for this year's Chasing Sprint.

Well as many of you will know the Orienteering Varsity Match was last week.

The great news was that the organisation was superb, with thanks to both Boris and Rob who enabled everyone who attended to have a great time training and competing in and around Uppsala.

However the icing on the cake was the white wash (well more Dark Blue ..) that OUOC completed:

• Joe Mercer won the Men's, posting a time of less than 8 minutes down on David Andersson
• Helen Gardener won the Women's for the 3rd time.
• The Men's team won with 4 out of the top 6 places only to be surpassed by ....
• The Women's team won 5 out of the top 6 places!

Congratulations needs to go to the whole Oxford team for some amazing performances.

Luckily JOK was at hand to win the "JOK Trophy" and ensure that OUOC did not win *every* trophy (with Rob Hart being tempted out of retirement!). Oh and JOK also beat DRONGO, but as we forgot to bring the trophy back we didn't mention that one too much ...

The AGM that followed the JOK Champs was unfortunately inquorate (perhaps we need to arrange this further North than Oxford) but Steve Fisher and Tony C-C did a great job of topping up drinks whilst the discussion took place. CJ took over from Nicky as secretary. Moira Steggles beat off Ian Cumpstey and Jon Skittrall to be the club's new social officer. Chris Millard was elected as OUOC Liaison Officer.

The club contribution award went to Nicky Morris for her past three years as secretary and organising this year's Chasing Sprint. Pat Bartlett was awarded the Fell Running trophy for completing a race with a broken ankle!

The meeting adjourned to Al-Shami for dinner.
